This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in the Seattle area I had a slightly weird feeling about it when we walked in (at 8 PM on a Friday) and most of the restaurant was empty. For some reason, the host decided to put us at one of the bar-adjacent wide tables rather than an actual table. The next weird thing was when someone I was with ordered a drink and received an entirely separate drink instead. Again a little strange - it's not often you see that As for what I ordered, I decided to go with the Duck Supreme, which came as large duck breast pieces with some rice and a fried egg on top Maybe the only good parts of this meal was that the rice was decent enough, and I liked the pineapples and carrots/onions that came with it. The egg was good, but what I didn't appreciate was the waiter asking me if I wanted an egg on top, but without mentioning that it costs extra. I only found out that adding the egg cost an additional $2.5 when it was time for the bill. I checked and it does mention the extra cost on their menu, but at the top and in a small print What makes this truly awful, though, was how bad the duck was. It made up by far the biggest proportion of the dish, so if you mess it up, you end up turning the entire dish into a catastrophe. Unfortunately, as you can probably tell, this dish ended up crashing and burning pretty hard. I actually feel bad for whatever duck (or ducks?) died to make this. You deserve better little buddy (or buddies) I could instantly tell something was wrong based on how impossible it was to even cut the duck in the first place. It took a serious amount of effort to even make the tiniest cut, using both a knife and fork. I don't think I've ever been served meat this tough in a restaurant before. The fact that a cook took a look at this and decided it was ok to serve represents a carelessness about the customer that's a massive red flag. As expected, the meat was not tender, juicy, or flavorful. Another annoying part was the tiny bones that were scattered throughout the meat itself, making this a pretty annoying eating experience. Towards the end, I just gave up on cutting the meat and started eating it like a turkey leg If everything wasn't enough, this ended up being really expensive. It came close to $50 for a entree & a drink, which is just ridiculous. If you asked me to name restaurants where you could get a significantly better experience for a significantly better price in Seattle I would keep going until I lost my voice. Overall, I have major regrets about coming here, and even though I live nearby, there's no chance I'll be at any other location of this restaurant again. 1/10
The best Asian place for vegans in seattle! Awesome tofu banhmi. Decent salad Great drinks. Nice gyoza. Awesome service.
Today I came to eat with my mom, and the staff were really friendly. We finished one bowl and ordered another bowl of Thai beef noodles. (pho tai nam) This is a bowl of beef rice noodles, and it’s absolutely delicious! The rice noodles are chewy and bouncy, the beef is tender, and the broth tastes so fragrant. My mom said it was amazing. Overall, the dining experience was great and the price was reasonable. We’ll definitely come back again. I highly recommend this to everyone - the beef rice noodles are a must-try!
The food here is pretty good, but don’t miss out on the cocktails. The Old Phởshion was a nice twist as it had hints of pho. The Starstruck was very refreshing and the cream was nice. I also liked From Me To Yuzu because the chili gave it a slight kick. As for food, the pork belly was delicious.
Stopped by for lunch on a weekday and this place was packed! I got the lemongrass rockfish which is absolutely incredible, bartender mentioned it’s the best item on the menu. It comes with a tangy tomato tamarind soup. Also tried the Nguyen cocktail which was amazing. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes!
The chicken pho and spring rolls were amazing. They asked me for a higher tip to support the kitchen, even after charging high price for their menu. I don't understand why US restaurants don't give a decent wage and rely heavily on customer tips. The food is good but won't be coming here again for the cost.
Cool vibes. Great service. Pho soup base was sooo good but the protein (chicken) was decent. The chicken tastes like it was just boiled in water and thrown in the base. I'll try a different protein next time. Drinks are good. Safe area for decent food. I've had better pho is "less safe" areas.
Cơm Gà Hội An and Saigon Singapore Noodle were so good and refreshing!! The Vietnamese coffee is good as well!
We got the pho Ha Noi and rockfish and they were decent. The pho Ha Noi was interesting but spicier than expected. Portion sizes were also a little bit small for the price.
Ba Bar is a decent local spot with a great vibe. One standout feature is their separate full vegan menu, which I really appreciated. I tried the Singapore noodles, while they were a bit bland on their own, the hot sauce they provided helped adjust the spice level, making it a decent dish overall. The only downside is the seating, regular dining tables have stools without back support, which can be uncomfortable. Interestingly, the bar seating is more comfortable, with chairs that have proper back support. Great service. Overall, a good neighbourhood spot worth checking out.
