DJ was extremely helpful. My wife just had surgery and we couldn’t get around Boston and neighboring cities for therapy and needed a SUV. I walked up and they didn’t have any but DJ made phone calls and made it happen. Were very thankful DJ💯💥💥💥💥💥. Also Leo 👍
They charged me additional $337 claiming I didn't hand over the key. That was a total lie and there were security cameras around the place where I gave them key in their hand. Now, in the reviews I see several others facing false extra costs from the location. You might want to be careful before renting out a car here.
Car we were rented at this location was fine but key fob was non-functional and did not lock or unlock the car, causing a huge inconvenience as we could not lock the car during the duration of the rental (we changed the fob battery, and an indicator light illuminated showing it had power but it did not communicate with the car). This should be checked during cleaning/prep for rental
Horrible customer service. Lady that waited on us said we should pay $13 daily for toll roads when we said we were going to Vermont and Provincetown. We did and didn't go through one toll. Then when we went to get car, man didn't even take us to our car, said find it with your key fob. It was damaged on the said and he said nothing and we didn't see it until later. When we brought it back about 1:45pm no one was there to check us out when we parked the car, and signage was not clear of where to park the car. Had picked a Toyota Camry and got a Toyota Rav instead with no power. Horrible service and we filed milked at the $13 per day on the toll roads, and no one there to take our car. Had to go down to customer desk for receipt of bringing car back.
Overcharged me for an additional driver, then refused to respond to follow-up emails. Extremely slow, took 30+ mins to get car, which hadn't been cleaned between renters, previous driver's contract was still there + dirty trunk. Staff didn't wear masks and allowed unmasked customers inside, despite signs on the door.
I reserved a car on the website, and paid for it with a debit card. When I went to the store location to pick up my car, they had a printer paper sign on the desk saying that as of April 2021, credit cards are required to pick up a vehicle. They wouldn’t allow a family member to provide a credit card number over the phone. The Budget rental website says that debit cards are allowed. This location doesn’t abide by that.
The worst car rental experience ever!!! The guy working there has poor listening skill. I said I wanted only the car and none of the optional services but they still charged me the loss damage waiver. I can only think he did this on purpose. More importantly, you can never reach the phone number on your paper work. I've made about more than 30 calls but all of them transfered me to the international services and the guys there would never pick it up!!!
The staff was efficient and friendly both in the office and at the pickup point. When I return the car I left an item behind. I live in New Jersey and the rental office was in Boston. They were very accommodating in locating my item and mailing it back to me. The call we rented was a delight.
Worst car rental experience I've ever had. Took 25 minutes to get to the car, supposed to get a vehicle upgrade but the team was unable to fulfill, therefore the vehicle class provided could not serve my essential travel purposes. I returned the vehicle within 3 hours, yet charged the full 5 days rental, what a shame!
SCAM - BE AWARE - SCAM!!!!! I've picked up the car on the morning of 09.07.24 at 09:20am and had a return date for one day later, 09.08.24 I have returned the car the same night (09.07) using the key drop box. To my surprise, when I received the e-receipt, I see a total amount of USD 88.08 and a return date on the 09.08.24 at 04:00PM. Even a bigger surprise was to see that I was billed in my credit card a total of USD 300.58!!! I contacted Budget and I just got an answer. They claim that "We like to explain that the reservation has been found and charge with a smoke fee of cleaning for 200 USD after return the car smelling of weed" Not only have I told the budget employee when picking up the car that there was a strong odor of cigarette, the car was very dirty on the interior, but I have never in my life smoked, cigarette or something else. This is insulting and absurd! There is no mention of cleaning fee in the e-receipt, they only charged me 300USD directly on my credit card with no explanation. DO NOT RENT HERE, SCAM!
