extremely slow. called and emailed many times and it either go to voicemail or noone pick up. After several months I had to come by and check on my status. The staff was very helpful in person but definitely bad service overall. After granted my license and additional 1.5 months i still don't see my license, directions to create mandatory physician profile or wall certificate i was blessed to able to contact a person named cphyillis--->excellent. He/she was very efficient, helpful, and got everything done for me within like 2 hours. Board needs more people like him or her. Definitely need major changes and better management.
I wish there was an option to give zero stars. The worst experience in customer service I have ever had! No one ever returns any emails or phone calls. It honestly seems like no one works there. I have been waiting for them to approve my application- I know they have it because they had no problem cashing the application fee. After reading other people’s reviews, accounting the same experience, they need to be held accountable.
I have been calling since the beginning of the year trying to get in contact with someone regarding an entire office especially the doctor. I have left several messages and NO ONE has returned the call. I am beginning to think these people are in cahoots with the poor healthcare service provided in ALL of Metro Atlanta. When I say I will not abort mission I will be heard.
When I tell you that $300 is only used to pay rent I mean it. The GA medical board is by far the most antiquated, unprofessional, slow, and irresponsible process I have ever been put through. I thought my medical training was mentally taxing, try dealing with the medical board: they will take your money and never answer your questions about the status of your application. They still require wet signatures and have not updated their systems to support the innovation of the internet or docusign, instead they want you to annoy your preceptors/boss to sign papers for you to turn in to them through the mail so that they can get lost and then blame you for being unprepared. They do not care that you may loose out on your job offer, on the contrary THEY ADVISE AGAINST TAKING JOBS BEFORE THEY APPROVE YOUR APPLICATION. GA board needs to understand that people have bills to pay and we cannot live for free for them to have the audacity to say this to applicants. Nothing is more wonderful than getting an email saying there 2 things missing from the same envelope that all documents were in was filed. It’s even better when you try to contact them and they don’t respond, but boy oh boy do they remind you that you have to pay the fee and they sure don’t loose track of that. Get better GA medical board, in every forum you are the nightmare of every provider, employer, and even yourselves. Other states have figured it out. Hire more people to deal with this. The providers of GA deserve better than this My advice: get a job outside of GA if possible, the medical boards are more adapted to the times and seem to cause less issues in some states. None are perfect, but if they have an online application they are already 1000x better than this antiquated process.
Unfortunately another negative review. I applied for my GA medical license via the compact, along with 8 other licenses. No issues whatsoever with any other state but GA. They are the absolute worse, no response to calls. emails etc. They really need to restructure.
I recently had a great experience with GCMB. The new personnel were receptive and provided great service during my license add/change process.
Submitted APRN protocol Agreement 08/2023. I have sent emails and phone call requesting information about the submission and not one reply to this date. It still doesn’t show up on the approved site but if not approved then tell me what I should do to correct this. Not an email to say if I may have submitted with incomplete information, absolutely no replies. This should not happen.
I've been waiting for over 3 months for my license and still have not received it. They gave me a temporary license that I didn't even apply for just to shut me up. I want my license or just give me my money back. This facility does not answer phone calls, voicemails, emails etc. They are very unprofessional and should be shut down. I've almost given up all hope of ever working in the state of Georgia because of how awful this facility is. Absolutely disgraceful.
I spent 2 months going back and forth through email with a terrible licensure "specialist" about a protocol that I ultimately got approved in 10 minutes once I showed up to the office in person. My big tip: print everything you need for your application and submit it in person. The people that processed my application were lovely and quick. This office should be ashamed of how difficult they make this process and how they treat medical professionals.
Licensing was delayed and not processed until I managed to get ahold of someone. They typically don't return calls or emails, you just have to keep calling day by day until you get someone. The paperwork/bureaucracy in setting up your initial account is aggressively redundant and costly (with regards to the multiple third party verification services they require). Recommend setting aside a good day to half day to address the forms, notaries, etc.
