Georgia Composite Medical Board - 11th floor

Graduated AA school late September and was on top of all the forms and applications to get my license… received 4 days after graduation which was a shocker. Needed another form to be filled out early November as I was still not approved to work. Wrong form was filled out by the doctor at hospital meaning I had to contact 2 different people from GMB to get wrong one withdrawn and new one started. Emailed, called, left messages, submitted on nextrequest, etc getting no where. Should be an easy fix if someone would actually contact.

I am never one to spend time to leave a review however this is the worst experience I have ever had. I am a Physician Assistant trying to get licensed. I initially started and submitted my application 9/9/2025 and had an issue I needed resolved as well as check on the status as my portal had not updated at all in weeks. I have left 4 requests through their gateway portal without a single response as well as 4-5 voicemails over the last few weeks. Update: I received a phone call today and all issues have been promptly resolved. They were extremely professional and patient as they answered and addressed every problem I had. They are having a lot of difficulties transitioning to their new system as well as being short staffed. Despite this they were able to help me obtain my license. Thank you!

Medical professionals beware. I feel there is really no point in leaving this review since we are left with no options, but if it helps someone else then it was worth it. I applied for an interstate compact license MONTHS ago. Paid fees. Had my paperwork submitted. Months have gone by. I received one singular communication after multiple attempts to reach someone, this gave me background check instructions. After I completed this, radio silence again. I have called, emailed, daily. Not even pre set email response. Just ghosted. I am not not able to work or continue providing patient care because I cannot be licensed. This is the absolute most unprofessional situation I have ever had to deal with and it is truly so unfortunate given the current state of provider shortages in GA and all over the country.

i have been trying to get help but no responses. i have left 3 messages in nextrequest . my license expires at the end of month. and i cannot get feedback why renewal application has been still under review over last 1month.

Wonderful experience with the process. Can be tedious but If it wasn’t for Mrs.Dominique, the license specialist, to help through this process it would’ve been very difficult. She was helpful , patient and knowledgeable for the entire process. I highly recommend her to get in contact with her for any of your needs for the GA license.

To echo the other recent reviews, this has been the worst experience I’ve had interacting with a state medical board in over a decade of professional experience in multiple states. I applied for an IMLC renewal in early October, which is typically a quick process. I received literally zero communication from the person designated as in charge of the Georgia IMLC despite using the new messaging portal, direct emails, and direct phone calls. To this day, I still have not received proof that she is an actual living, breathing human. If she is a remote worker, someone should honestly perform a wellness check on her. I finally emailed the executive director since I saw he was replying to these Google reviews, and I was thrown a breadcrumb of a Microsoft Word document with instructions about obtaining fingerprints. Since then, despite follow up inquiries, I have received no further communication. I understand the system update was a colossal disaster of epic proportions, but that does not really excuse the lack of communication and transparency about if and when applications can be expected to be processed. Even an email acknowledging that there is no real plan in place to fix anything would be preferable to no communication at all. For anyone else seeking IMLC licensure, I highly advise using a different state of principal licensure if you are at all eligible to avoid dealing with the nightmare of dysfunction that is the GCMB.

I am working on obtaining a imlc license and Like many other physicians there is zero communication , the customer service has the audacity to say they can’t help me ( so why are you working then?) , I have emailed nextrequest and there is no prompt response as I was told. I like how as medical providers we are expected to provide swift and prompt care because that is the expectation meanwhile a licensing body takes your money and then does nothing.

I did not have the same experience as others posting recently. While some of the instructions on the website are outdated given the new licensing system, I found the completion of the application to be fairly straight forward and my license was approved in a very timely manner (much faster than my other licensure states!) My gratitude to Ms. Sandra Fanning for all of her help during the process and for making getting my GA license so quick and easy.

Have been a Georgia physician for over 25 years and never had issues until now with getting my license renewed. Finally found someone (Chesley Harris) who was patient and very helpful.But though have completely filled out my now reinstatement app.waited weeks for my new license and may have missed a great job opportunity because a potential new employer has moved on. Help if possible since no one returns requests.

I hold a medical license in good standing with the state of Georgia. I have had a completed application submitted since June for IMLCC in an effort to assist with a critically understaffed hospital. For over a month, I have tried multiple times each week to contact Ms Sams and Ms Robinson. I have not had a single call or email returned. I called the IMLCC to request assistance -- Their representative informed me the state of Georgia is nearly non-responsive. I am incredibly frustrated with my home state.
