Hertz Car Rental - Boston - Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)

I have been a Hertz customer for my entire career. I have never had an issue with the cars that I rented, and have always had a good experience in pick-up and drop-off. As a gold member, I have my pick of what ever is available in the Gold member section, which most cars are above the grade I rent. Drop off is extremely easy. Just pull up, leave the keys and head to the terminal.

Huge help from two Hertz agents, Bobby and Carlos C. They noticed we were struggling with multiple children and lots of bags and helped expedite a transfer to the airport. They truly made our return experience absolutely delightful. Thank you guys!

We had quite a lot of luggage and were not looking forward to take this on the shuttle bus from the car rental center to Terminal E. The Hertz staff at Boston Logan were extremely helpful and offered to drive us (in the rental car) to Terminal E. The driver also helped us offloading our luggage at the terminal. Great service! Returning the car was extremely quick and easy!

The new Hybrid Elantra was superb and really good on gas milage. 'it was very clean, except for some food residue on the gear shifter booth. I also love the Gold Member ability to choose the vehicle, which makes things easier for the renter. good job Hertz, my favorite car rental people. One love y'all.

The employees at the rental counter are extremely rude, unhelpful and not educated on proper customer service training. One particular employer refused to give me her name so I could speak with her next level manager, so I took a picture to show him. She then told me she was going to call the police on me because she didn't consent to her picture being taken and it was illegal to do so. I'm not sure if it is or isn't, but it was literally the only way to show the manager who the very aggressive employee was. Her name is Patricia, by the way, dark hair and very cosmetically enhanced all over. If you ever have the pleasure of dealing with her she does not care if her aggression is displayed in front of children. She also followed me to the manager's location was yelling on top of what I was saying as I finally got to speak to her manager and she refused to leave the room as I spoke to him with my children present. She threatened to call the cops on me in front of my children to which they were terrified until we left that place. We were not given the car I reserved months ago, as they said they didn't have any available and they tried to give me upgraded replacements for an extra daily fee. The result was an uncomfortably packed car with 2 small children inside among our wedged in luggage and belongings. The safety sensors kept going off with a different issue every 20 or 30 minutes saying one thing or another needed servicing and was malfunctioning. They gave us a car that we did not want and was completely unsafe for not only us, but our young children. I would never rent from them again and especially at this location. In fact, judging by these reviews, they should be criminally investigated for negligence and safety issues. **UPDATED RESPONSE TO HERTZ'S RESPONSE*** Your apologies mean nothing. They are just words at this point. Clearly reading through all of the reviews of this location and the same auto response you seem to give, you do not respect your customers or their experiences. Months of terrible reviews and you are still not "doing better".

I’ve not had a more chaotic and unorganized experience with any company ever, let alone a rental car. They are understaffed everywhere: the gates, the runners, the desks, etc... I received an email saying I needed to go to the desk, the line was long and there was one kid at the counter. When I got to the front he said “I can’t help you, go downstairs to the presidents circle desk.” Frustrating, but fine. Went downstairs and waited in line again, to be told the same thing “just go outside and wait for a car.” Another customer asked “how long will it take, we been waiting already.” The agent rudely snapped “I donno 20-30 minutes, we got no cars.” Again I waited in a line of 20 or so people, and this is where the chaos happened. She wasn’t kidding, they had no cars and no one working. The few working seemed like it was their first day. Customers everywhere trying to get in car types they didn’t rent because nothing was out or available and no one would answer any questions. The few employees just ignored peoples questions and walked off. Took forever. Ended up in a regular car after renting an SUV. Car smelled horribly of smoke. The exit gate was more of the same, though the gal was very nice. Horrible experience, would avoid at all costs when renting from BOS.

Good - The return process was smooth and the staff were friendly and nice to anser questions. Bad - The agent at the counter to check out cars wasn't very helpful or friendly. She sent me back and forth between booking agency, her counter and downstairs gold rewards center. After one hour of going up and down stairs, I gave up, switched to another agent, and checked out a car.

3rd time in a row my rental had to be exchanged or wasn’t ready. Then at checkout the attendant blocked my lane with a closed sign and directed me to the neighboring lane after I was waiting for the vehicle in front of me to checkout. putting me behind the neighboring line that amassed while I was waiting. Over an hour to get my car and checkout. What’s the point of paying this company their premium rates, when they continue to demonstrate they’re no better than a traditional counter-style rental company? Wonder if Tom Brady has these issues?

Renting a car from Hertz at Logan was easy. Accessing the rental terminal was a breeze. The shuttle takes you right to the door. At hertz, customer service is efficient. They had a wide selection of "gold" member cars to pick from. We ended up with a red jeep that was fun for our vacation; but probably not the most gas-efficient vehicle. Returning the car was quick and easy. at 430AM, the shuttle was running and we were minutes from our gate. Pricing was competitive with other brands.
