I had an outstanding stay at the Manchester Grand Hyatt while speaking at a conference, and this property absolutely exceeded expectations. The location is unbeatable—right on the waterfront with walkable access to restaurants, the marina, and downtown. The facilities are spotless from top to bottom, and the entire hotel feels luxurious and well-maintained. The rooftop views are incredible, especially at night—one of the best skyline vantage points in San Diego and a perfect place to unwind after a long day of sessions. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly and genuinely helpful, making the entire conference experience seamless. Whether you’re here for business or leisure, this hotel delivers on comfort, convenience, and first-class service. I’d gladly stay here again.
Another great stay at the Manchester Grand Hyatt for the ASU+GSV conference. Great location, views, staff, rooms. The food was pretty good as well. Keep up the good work
The hotel and its two towers look luxurious, but there are some core issues that made it hard to properly rest during the stay: (1) The walls are very thin. You can hear everything in the hallway and neighboring rooms. When an adjacent door shuts, you can actually feel the vibration from the bed. If they're vacuuming in the adjacent room in the morning, you'll hear everything. Several rooms are interconnected with a thin internal door, which makes the soundproofing even worse. I could clearly hear alarms, coughing, and even full conversations from next door. (2) Elevator wait times were consistently long. Expect 10 to 15 minutes on average, and sometimes up to 30 minutes. The system requires you to enter your floor and tap your key, then it assigns one of three elevators. However, throughout my stay it kept assigning me the same elevator. Other guests were visibly frustrated too. It honestly felt like there was only one working elevator instead of three, since I never saw anyone using the other two. Because of these issues, it was difficult to get quality sleep or have a truly restful stay. Your experience highly depends on your neighbours. That said, I’m still giving 3 stars because the service and hospitality were genuinely good. The staff clearly cared and tried to help, and this seemed outside of their control. They also offered some Hyatt points (admitted only equivalent to 1/3rd of the cost of one night) for the inconvenience.
Great location, quiet rooms. Unfortunately, the building was under construction while I was there. Make sure you indicate you want your room cleaned/serviced, or they will not come by.
Really nice place with a great atmosphere. Lauren at the front desk was absolutely top notch and made the experience even better. Outstanding customer service from start to finish. Easily a 20/10.
We stayed in this hotel this weekend and the room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. We went to hot tube and pool where was not great the pool was yellow and green not clean at all ( we didn’t get in ) and the hot tube only 1 was working.
The customer service was amazing. The room was clean but it was a lot of dust. The temperature in the room had to be lower than normal. Outside of that the location was great for walking and a short uber to the airport.
Lived is SD for many Gears, now i live in OC and had a business trip to SD and stayed in this hotel. It was very nice, we were going to have the ocean view and at the last minute, we were given this view.. Not bad, but we were already excited to have the ocean view. Maybe next time.
Really huge! Amazing room and view, staff, great restaurants/ top of Hyatt. We finally found the pool, fireplace, jacuzzi. Will use their valet next time. Enterprise rental car booth is here.
Nice hotel in a great location. The property is huge, with two towers. I stayed in the Harbor Tower; the room was spacious, clean, and well stocked with complimentary water. There is a main heated pool and an adults-only heated pool—both are very nice, with plenty of chairs and loungers. The hotel is beautifully decorated for the holidays. On the last day of my stay, I had issues with my room door. The area around the hotel offers many dining options, a boardwalk, and an outdoor movie theater. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
