If you don’t really care about the difference between old yet charming and aged, then you can make use of this hotel. It has a very good location, and the staff’s average rating is neither too rude nor too friendly. The rooms are extremely worn out, and it feels more like a rundown hotel than just an old one.

Special thanks to Albert at the front desk! We were traveling with elderly family and a child, and he was incredibly patient and kind during check-in, helping us find a perfect room. He really made our Christmas trip to San Diego feel wonderful. Also this Hyatt has perfect location, clean and really new room. Definitely we will back for next San Diego trip!

Great area and views. Room AC wouldn't get cold. Paid parking on top of resort fee. 1 pool and hot tub closed.

I stayed at Seaport. The ocean view was great. The room was a bit small for 2 adults and 2 kids. There was no fan in the restroom, so it was humid after a shower and smells lingered.

I recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt San Diego Manchester using a confirmed Suite Upgrade Award, which cleared into a suite on the 7th floor. The suite itself was spacious, comfortable, and had beautiful views of the bay and skyline. The layout was functional and made the stay enjoyable from a room perspective. However, the arrival experience was extremely chaotic. There appeared to be thousands of guests checking in at the same time, and the lobby felt completely overwhelmed. Lines were long, the atmosphere was crowded, and it did not reflect the level of organization you expect from a property of this size. The elevator situation made things more difficult. The elevators servicing the Grand Club and rooftop bar were mostly out of service, with only one operating. This caused significant delays, especially during peak hours. As a Globalist, breakfast is restricted to the club with no restaurant alternative. The club breakfast offering was very basic and limited compared to other Grand Hyatt properties. That said, I do want to highlight the staff. They were genuinely accommodating and professional throughout the stay. We were unable to get into our 1:30pm flight, and the team allowed us to stay later with a flexible late checkout. That was a huge relief and greatly appreciated. The service interactions themselves were positive the operational challenges were the real issue. Overall, the physical property and location are strong, but the management and logistics need improvement, especially during high-volume events. I would consider returning only if the operational execution improves.

Ive stayed at a few Hyatts and this is by far my favorite. First, Kudos to Kris at the check-in desk. I had some barriers to checking in and Kris made everything smooth as can be. Thank you Kris. Pros: 1. Location, location, location. I went for a conference at the San Diego Convention Center. The location allowed for a crisp morning walk to the convention hall. It wasn't too long at all. The proximity to downtown SD is ideal. 2. Room quality. My room was great. I had a corner room with a view that was very clean. The bathroom and bedroom lighting was spectacular. Everything worked well. 3. Service. It all started with Kris. However, throughout bthe trip I ran out of a few toiletries. Guest service delivered to my room within minutes of my request. Cons: the pool in-between the towers was not operational when I was there. I imagine after renovations or maintenance it will be amazing. It looks like the views would be outstanding to have poolside.

Hotel is Top Notch in every way!! With a lot of choices in Downtown San Diego, and besides the spectacular views and prime location, you should choose the Grand Hyatt because of the management. Thomas Becker single-handedly took this review from a 1 star to a 5 star. With thousands of people coming in and out of this location due to big conventions, things can get a little hectic with rooms, wait times, and just in general. And with big companies hosting events here the everyday person, family, loyalty members potentially can get pushed aside. Not valued as much as they should. In management you address the problem, but it’s the solution that matters in customer service. In the most chaotic of times, how do you and your family walk away from the situation. And that solution determines whether we come back and spend our hard earned money here or choose somewhere else. This review gets a 5 star because of Thomas, the management, their customer service, his professionalism, and through all the chaos ensuring my family and I walked away with a smile. Thank you so much for your time and we will see you very soon!!

I was upgraded to a very large suite. Very nice view. It was nice but felt very corporate and not warm and inviting. Also, the bed was it in the open and it would have been better if they had put up a screen or otherwise closed off the sleeping area. Also the water temperature was not consistent but it was ok.

Very nice hotel. Staff is pleasant and accommodating, food has been good. The only thing that I wish was different was the sound of the elevators. I stayed on floor 28 and I could hear every elevator that went up and down and it was usually the sound that woke me up in the morning. That was a bummer. Wouldn't have expected at a hotel like this but because of it I don't think I'd stay here again and just wanted to share for anyone who may be a light sleeper.
