This company is complete trash. I got into a car accident august 30th made the claim that same day and they let my car sit at the tow yard until Sept 19th. Then advised me it takes 72 hours for an appraiser to come estimate the car. It now has been two weeks since the 72 hour mark. Oh and let’s not forget they won’t pay for your rental you pay out of pocket. And they only pay for it for up to 20$ a day for 1 week!. Terrible service WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND

This has to be one of the most unprofessional car insurance companies I know . there customers services is terrible I call explaining my situation and the hang up on me they are rude and inconsistent they don't update you on anything that is going on with your vehicle. This company should be shut down in all honesty ... sorry middle class citizens I know it's hard to afford good insurance . But in will never recognized this company to anyone else its not worth the web stress

To begin with, all thanks to Google, I can not give zero stars. I put one though. For good reason. Let me explain. I was involved in a car accident on 04/22/2022. I was declared not at fault, received no citations/traffic violations/tickets as a result of my presentation of video evidence to police officers of the Miami-Dade Police Department who were first responders at the scene. My vehicle was declared a total loss by my Personal-Injury Protection Insurance (Ocean Harbor Casualty Insurance Company). As it turns out, the other party involved in this accident was covered under the same insurance as me, (Ocean Harbor Casualty Company) therefore, I proceeded to file a claim through the other parties’ policy. I notified Ocean Harbor Casualty Insurance Company of the location of my totaled vehicle a mere FOUR days after the accident. The reason for that is because at the scene of the accident I was not given a full report of the crash since the police officer's printer was not working and could not provide a "Driver Exchange Of Information". Considering this, I was not able to notify Ocean Harbor immediately about the accident without the other party's information. Since then the Ocean Harbor has made untrue statements about “negligence” on my end (they claim I was negligent at the time of the accident, that it was preventable, this is untrue as described by the police report that states that their insured made an improper U-Turn and caused an accident as a result), as well as that I notified them of the location of my vehicle a month after (LIE) and I incurred storage charges when the evident truth is that I notified them as soon as I was able to (FOUR DAYS AFTER), and have all the evidence to prove so. Furthermore, they have unnecessarily delayed the proceedings of this claim (absolutely no answer to phone calls, and LATE LATE responses to emails etc.), and I am stuck paying the note on a car I am not in possession of anymore. All in all, they were originally offering a sum of $-2,675.05 which I argued for many months was ridiculous and unfair. After these arguments, they are now offering $250 to settle. After deducting charges for storage, which they are 100% responsible for, and "Failure to Use Due Care" on my end. When I saw their valuation on my vehicle it seemed extremely low. Ridiculous for no reason. Their valuation report stated that there was prior damage to my vehicle and this damage further subtracted from the settlement offer. The evident truth is that this vehicle had been purchased from a dealership a mere month before the accident and there was no damage. I made sure to retain an alternative appraiser, and he provided me with a fair valuation of my vehicle which the insurance is not accepting. Man I don't even know what to say. Why in the world are these scammers still in business. Can someone put them out of business??? I would love to mention the name of the adjuster who is absolutely great at replying to emails, at minimum, you're looking at 15-25 business days before you get a response. no response AT ALL to phone calls though. That'll be Ms. Ashley K. Yanzey.

I canceled my insurance after returning my car in sept. However ocean harbor gave info to FDMV that I drove with no insurance and now my license is suspended. I don't have $500 to reinstate at this time. I am recovering from recent surgery. I have attempted to contact Ocean Harbor with no luck. If someone can help me that would be great.

December 2020 Let me tell you what I am going through. Accident but I am not at fault. He said she said case but there is a camera so I’m not worried. However I need to proceed with my policy so I don’t have to wait it out for the police report to be finalized. 4 hours of calls through 3 days trying to dial in but I keep getting hung up on. I thought I would get fancy and dial the first time claim number and the moment I got on to someone, they transferred me back to purgatory. I’m fairly patient person as you can see above but good luck if you buy this insurance. They are quick to receive payment but I still have yet to see what service I am paying for. Nightmare like everyone else says is an understatement.

This is the worst insurance company EVER! I will be seeking legal services so they can e held accountable for the damages my car endured as a result of their careless insured. The accident happened on 1/9/23 and not 1 person has called me as of today 1/30/23. I called several body shops around and none of them would accept them due to non payment. So now MY insurance has to pay for the damages and they are still ignoring my calls.

Ridiculously high premiums and it only continues to rise for no reason, despite being with them since 2014 and driving a small car. A car accident 3 years ago was not my fault and I sent them my claim, they never followed back and only raised my premium even more, it hasn't stopped going up ever since. After only 1 day of missing a payment, they immediately send threatening letters. They also charge a $10 fee if it's been 5 days, auto loans and credit cards wouldn't even stoop this low. I won't be dealing with these crooks anymore and neither should you

Hello to all my fellow unsatisfied customers…let’s seek out a lawyer for a class action suit against Ocean Harbor, Accentus & South and Western…I’ve been paying for 8 years and have a claim filed with adjuster out to take pics and videos after Hurricane Beryl but that is as far as it has gone. With every single person telling you the same scripted reply and giving you the same exact call center number. Let’s start a group to sue them!

I do NOT recommend dealing with Ocean Harbor Casualty Insurance Company Claims Department. I had a car accident on March 20, 2024, and even now in 2026 I am STILL dealing with this claim. Right after the accident, I submitted my statement and also followed up through email multiple times. Somehow, they later claimed they never received it. I left this insurance company in 2024 because of how unprofessional the service was, but I’m still suffering the consequences today. Nobody answers the phone, emails go ignored, and I reached out to Derek by email, text, and calls with absolutely no response. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had with an insurance company. Poor communication, lack of accountability, and terrible customer service. Claims should not take YEARS to handle. If you want something cheap and frustrating, go for it. But if you want professionalism, communication, and people who actually handle claims properly, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere

The worst insurance company that has ever existed. They take millions of years to process a simple claim. Extremely unprofessional people who answer the phone. Extremely less than mediocre service. I don’t recommend this insurance for anyone who has working brain cells. Take your money and time somewhere else!
