Gently used Athleta and Nike pieces I got from Plato’s in Lone Tree, at 50% off the tagged price! Best Platos I’ve been to!

These changing rooms need to be better, especially because it is a clothing store. I have never had an issue with fitting rooms at any place I’ve shopped at except this one. A staff member did not bother to knock the door before opening my door and completely exposed me without any apology. It should be a standard to knock before opening any type of fitting room. My experience would have been better if I had gotten a proper apology, but I was completely disrespected after that incident. I hope the staff improves in the future because I do not feel comfortable at this location any longer.

The staff here are so nice! I was in the store for a long while, and they let me store my items until I was ready for check out. It was easy and I felt comfortable in there. Very kind staff and a lovely, endless selection. Truly such a great location! I can’t believe I got 2 brand new pairs of shoes for less than $100!! Amazing

I understand resale stores need to make a profit, but offering $40 for all of these clean, trendy, excellent-condition items—including a Dandy sweatshirt that retails for around $90—was unbelievable. They even put someone’s name on the Dandy sweatshirt to claim it while offering me next to nothing for everything. I declined and will be taking my clothes somewhere that values them more fairly.

If you’re a person of color don’t come here. Wouldn’t take any of our clothes due to a “smoke smell” which I know is false because 1 I don’t smoke, 2 these clothes have been washed and stored in my garage. The moment I walked in the store I was uncomfortable due to the way the cashier kept staring at me. Never coming back

I have been selling at Plato’s closet for years, 10+. I have been to multiple locations and for the last year or maybe two, I feel like they never buy any of the clothes I bring in, and if I do, they buy them for dirt cheap. Today, I brought in four bags of clothes. They purchased two brand new with tags still on dresses from Lulus, one tank top, and two skirts (photos below). Guess how much they offered me? $20! One of those dresses is worth more than $20. That means each item on average was bought for $4. Please don’t even waste your time trying to sell here and sell on Depop/Poshmark/Mercari where people will pay fair prices for your gently items.

I love shopping at Plato’s closet and I am a frequent customer! I know a lot of teenagers are currently working there, and they are usually nice, but the last few times I have went, it hasn’t been the same. I think it was a store manager who told one of the two employees standing around to help me, as I was waiting to check out for a couple minutes, because they were completely ignoring me. They pretty much ignored her request as well, and someone else offered to help. I also said ‘thank you’ before I left the building like always, and one of the same girls ignored me AGAIN! I was sort of embarrassed as everyone watched. The other person was a younger male I believe, but I couldn’t tell, but they were constantly running around the store and were gossiping really loud the whole time I was shopping. Again, I love shopping at Plato’s Closet and still plan on coming in, but it was just a very uncomfortable situation to be in, and it seems to be getting pretty frequent right now. Thanks!

I unfortunately had a very poor and frustrating experience at this Plato's closet location. I live about 30 minutes away and before going to location I called to see if the item I had was something they would or could buy if condition and everything was good. I explained it was a designer Chloe bag and was told yes they need designer bags for some release or something they have coming up and was encouraged to bring it right down. I drove the 30 minutes to get there only to be told that this isnt the kind of stuff they would buy Chloe brand is just to expensive. The whole reason I called in advance was to avoid driving 30 minutes each way for nothing. Unprofessional and not great way of doing business just my personal opinion.

This review is being provided as a seller, not as a buyer, and primarily focused on the lack of customer support and engagement from the staff. Upon drop off, my interaction was pleasant, and with whom I assume to be the owner. She was quite a bit older than most of the staff and seemed to be delegating the workers, as well as assisting with a shift change. I could tell she was busy, but she still remained pleasant - she did over explain the process after I already told her I was familiar, which was funny - but I am sure it is more so out of habit. Anyway - my one star review is not a reflection of her - she was nice and I can tell she was working hard. My experience went south upon pick up. The same lady mentioned above was no longer present, and instead, a younger male (and the only male on staff early this afternoon), whom I assume may be a manager, or perhaps a shift lead was in her place. There were 4 employees working including this man - one accepting drop offs, one sorting through clothes and one working the register for both pay out and check outs. It was relatively busy, and because I had waited longer than expected for my items to be reviewed, I was needing to pick up my belongings and handle the offer in a timely manner. I approached the man because he was the only one not doing anything - in fact, he was standing behind the counter on his cell phone - I thought maybe he just didn't see me - no big deal, but I was ready to be helped so that I could continue with my day. Upon notifying him I was there to pick up, he pointed to the area where the line starts (there were no other customers standing in the line) and told me that I would need to wait for the lady who was handling check outs/payments. Weird - he wasn't doing anything, so I am not sure why he couldn't help? However, I have noticed this seems to be a theme with SOME of the younger generation - poor work ethic/inability to help others/easily distracted... the list goes on. I work in management, and if this were my employee, he wouldn't be employed long. Ultimately, the gal on register did help me, and come to find out she was new. I ended up declining the offer for the items I was selling due to the poor engagement from the man because I would rather donate items than help foster an environment where this kid thinks he is entitled to point customers in a different direction because he is preoccupied with his cell phone. This seems like common sense, but if you are at work, especially in a retail/customer facing position, put your cell phone away & help your staff and clientele - it's annoying and rude, not only to your patrons, but your staff, to disregard your work and primary reason for being there in the first place. I appreciate the offer for some of my items, but customer experience matters & when that ball drops, I would rather take my business and products elsewhere.

I just left this location, and I will not be going back. I see what some of the reviews mean by the fact they don't feel welcomed when they're shopping in the store. I immediately felt profiled while i was shopping. I went in about 40 mins before the store closed and I looked around and while I was shopping around, I asked a girl with red hair and pale skin about the clearance sale, she saw that I had a reusable bag with some things in it so she asked me did I need them held at the front, I told her no I have a bag I am shopping with, she proceeded to say something into her mic as she walked away from me which I thought was weird. I continued to shop and kept running into the same female & I started to feel as if I was being watched while I shopped. She then asked me again did I need to hold my items I had at the front I told her sure since you want to keep asking, she states well what about the items in your bag? I said my bag is empty I have two items and I'm ready to checkout. She looked dumbfounded like she was expecting for me to be stealing from the store. First off, I am a REPEAT customer at Plato's closet. I have been shopping at various Plato's closet locations for YEARS. I have also sold a ton of my things at this franchise as well. Do you really think I would steal from a 2nd hand store? I would stay clear away from this store. It's obvious that they're prejudice and assume if you're not white that you steal and make you feel uncomfortable while shopping. I will never come back to this location again.
