Taken back after my recent visit. I’ve been coming to this location about 5 years now. Buying and Selling. However today put a sour taste in my mouth. I found a shoe I wanted to get , but didn’t have a tag and asked one of the ladies there what the price was . She checked with the front and her coworker took her to the back to find it’s pair. To my luck she brought it out and it had a clearance sticker. I was even happier . However then i checked out….I handed all my items to check out associate . She scanned my items, but when she got to the shoes she said she had to "check something". Went into the back said the shoes were NOT ON CLEARANCE pulling the clearance sticker off. Clearance this week was 50% off. Did they honor the clearance mistake? NO. Did they offer a discount or credit? NO I wound up using my saved up points 20% off to reduce the price . So not only am out of the 37.50 the 50% clearance would have saved me (shoes were 75) , but i lost my saved up 20% off . SHADY PRACTICE!! I posted my experience on all my social medias and everyone agrees they should have HONORED THE MISTAKE and given my the clearance price. Not only did you loose a 5year customer but the people on my social medias said they will be looking elsewhere to avoid having the same Shady practice done to them
Super cute clothes for purchase but when you’re trying to sell they don’t even look. The past 4 times Iv come to sell, it doesn’t look like my clothes were touched or gone through, and they say they’re being selective. I totally get they may not have room, but at least make it look like you tried <3
All the employees are entitled girls who don’t understand that soap has a smell so they’ll decline your items if it has ANY sort scent. The receipt is rude aswell. The employee put “items stink :), please wash”. The employees are just talking to each other and are unhelpful and I had to do everything by myself without help. Management needs to train employees at this location proper customer service. Or maybe their poor customer service is due to their current management and entitlement. I will stick to a better nicer location.
Hidden gem. Staff was so professional and friendly. Clothes were on-trend, in great condition, and well-organized even on a huge sale day. I saw other reviews complaining about how selective the store is with what it buys but to me this is a huge strength. If you’re a teen (and even adults can find some cool items here), this is where you go to amp up your personal style for not much money—and you’re giving clothes a second life. Love this place.
This location is very nice and the staff is great and attentive. I love buying clothes second hand and saving them from going to the landfill. The one issue I do have is whatever they spray on their clothes to make them smell fresh. A few times after trying on clothes, I have broken out in a horrible itchy rash. I’d assume they use a fabric softener or perfume on the clothes to give them a scent. I bought a pair of jeans that I’ve washed 3 times and the smell still hasn’t come out and I’m afraid to wear them. I may end up having to donate them which is a bummer since I spent my money on them. I would highly recommend not using fabric softener and perfume on clothing as many people have sensitive skin and it will be an issue for them. I unfortunately, can’t shop at Plato’s closet anymore because of this.
I should have done my research before trying to sell stuff here. Don’t bother unless you’re a teenager since their store only caters to the styles they are wearing. Every Plato is so different! I could see really liking it here if I was in my 20s. Us Millennials need a place to sell clothes, ha!
I usually love coming to this location, the employees on the floor were super kind, making sure I was doing okay. The girl behind the register cashing me out? Not so much….I bought clothing of all sizes and the extremely arrogant and rude girl behind the counter felt the need to point out the sizes of the smaller clothing to me. “You know those are small and medium right?” I am a curvier woman myself. I can wear whatever I please. I will have to seriously reconsider ever coming back. That was a full on back handed comment and I was so embarrassed. I really hope you guys are taking all of these horrible reviews to heart. DO BETTER!
The employees did not go through the whole basket of clothes brought in. I watched the girl pull items out of other people’s buys not even unfold to see what the item was and but it right back in the basket. There were multiple items of clothing on the floor that had original price tags and the price Plato’s was asking was the same as the original retail price. The prices at this store have increased significantly.
Terrible experience every time. They reject my clothes 3 different times because they smell like smoke. As a non smoker I find this offensive but nonetheless I have even gone as far as to use a laundromat! Drug test your employees and stay far away from this place!!!
Plato’s in Lone Tree is my favorite location. Even though I’m pretty central to a few locations, I always choose Lone Tree because their employees are so nice, helpful & upbeat.. plus they have so much inventory to shop
