People say it’s haunted, but I’ve been here 94 years and haven’t seen anything weird. It’s the bee’s knees.
Power & Light Apartments have amazing amenities in a great location. Free coffee bar, gym, sauna, indoor hot tub, and rooftop pool are a few of my favorites. With it being a historic building comes issue with the elevators that can take weeks to repair. Otherwise, the staff is responsive, maintenance is typically quick, and the views are top notch! Edit: I lived at this building for 3.5 years. While I had a good experience, when I put in notice that I would not be renewing my lease I felt that their attitudes changed. I was charged for maintenance while still living there. I found this particularly aggravating because I had gone weeks without having working elevators and there was no reimbursement but they charged me for the first and only thing I ever broke in my time there. You will also receive a move out check list upon notice of move out that frankly could put you into bankruptcy. If you choose to move into this building just keep in mind that you need to look for damages on things you would never think to look at or you will be charged.
Beautiful building with many excellent amenities. The customer service is top notch and very helpful. My own complaint is issues I've had with the AC in my apartment not working to my standards.
The maintenance team at Power & Light Apartments are fantastic! I put in a request and within the hour BJ was here to take care of it! Excellent service 🥂
Emergency fix of a hot water heater leak. Thank you service team, for fixing the leak and cleaning things up promptly. Special kudos to Zac, for coming in Sunday morning to fix the leak.
I moved into the Power and Light Apartments after seeing a tour of the building via Zoom during Covid in 2021. I have been here for 4 years and am only leaving due to relocating for work. I cannot say enough good things about this building; the accommodations are great, the apartments are quiet and the location is walkable to grocery stores, restaurants and workout studios. The maintenance team (Melissa & crew) as well as the community manager are second to none. The maintenance team is very prompt to respond and makes it a priority to fix anything and everything. Jayden, the community manager, was very quick to help with whatever I needed in regards to a smooth moving out experience. I would highly recommend living here!
I've absolutely loved living at Power & Light Apartments! The building is beautiful, the amenities are top-notch, and the location couldn’t be better. But what really sets this place apart is the incredible management team. A special shoutout to Bettina Collins—she goes above and beyond to make sure residents feel heard, valued, and taken care of. Every interaction with her and the rest of the staff has been professional, prompt, and genuinely helpful. It’s clear they take pride in creating a great living experience here. Highly recommend!
I feel so fortunate to be able to call Power & Light Apartments. The location is superb and the amenities are equally impressive (fantastic rooftop lounge and pool). I have leased for the entire decade I've lived and worked in Kansas City and this is by far the best managed property I have lived in. The staff knows us and our dog by name and has always been great to work with. Whenever we have had a maintenance issue arise or simply made in inquiry with staff, the responsiveness has been consistently prompt and helpful. We've been assisted in many small but thought ways in which I would never have expected. Communication to residents about community information, events, or incidents is timely and informative. We love our unit especially the aesthetic of the finishes and floor to ceiling windows. While car ownership still a necessity for most in KC, parking is easily accessible for residents yet secure. And the garage has several electric charing stations. We are thoroughly enjoying living in the center of KC's downtown and couldn't imagine a better place to experience it!
