Very interesting grocery store. First time seeing tide pods behind a locked cabinet. Otherwise just a regular grocery store. Be wary of lots of homeless people outside as they wander for change and move through the garage
Very Dirty and the parking lot is stinky. Couldn't even get out off the car. Horrible experience.
They just installed digital price displays which means that prices can change remotely. Will not be shopping here anymore
Pretty decent. No complaints. Although some guy keeps following me. I live in the area, I am a regular. I guess he was loss prevention? I just have to wonder why he picked me to follow. I won't say it's because I'm black because that's corny. There must be another reason. Even after I pay and bag it. He is at the door all of a sudden. They should be less obvious so it doesn't make customers uncomfortable. Nobody really wants to be followed by someone they don't know. But like I said, the store in general is clean and efficient.
Is this parking garage actually Seattle’s largest public toilet? I grew up around cattle barns that smelled better. This place is a biohazard, I think. If you don’t need to park here, don’t! Your nostrils will thank you.
This is a very unique Safeway. I shopped here a few times while staying in a hotel. It's not a huge store, but they have a good inventory anyway. I feasted on the deli mostly, but I cruised around the store to check it out. I picked up more food than I needed and wound up taking a bunch of non-perishables home. The parking lot is under the store off 1st street and you take an elevator up (or the stairs if you prefer). The prices are on par with other Safeways; they don't gouge you for the privilege of spending money downtown like a lot of restaurants do, and with the easy parking, it was an easy decision as to where I'd be getting food from for the week.
Groceries are overpriced, and it barely has enough staff. The checkout lanes are always unstaffed; you get one lane open if you are lucky. Corporate is squeezing every cent it can out of the people who have no better choice, and it can’t even remodel or fully stock this store. This place is depressing. The produce is horrible; I had to throw away everything I bought there for months until I gave up and stopped buying produce from them.
Huda at the self checkout is amazing! Always so helpful and nice ❤️ she deserves a raise!
For some reason the ladies at customer services are extremely unfriendly. Have had to wait a long time while they talk to each other to then turn to me to aggressively ask what I want. This happens about everytime I go. Not sure what their deal is but its really off putting and makes me not want to shop st this location.
I hate to pile on with the other negative reviews, but I’m pleased to see that at least a bot is responding to these posts. Regarding the lower Queen Anne location…the toxic mix of unhoused people, blatant drug use, and the unsightly exterior that’s used as a public toilet is dangerous and very unsafe for the community. Applying some basic principles from the “broken window theory,” such as maintaining a clean exterior and having another guard outside, would immediately help to create a safer and more pleasant shopping experience for customers and staff. I only live one block away from the store, but I only go when I’m completely desperate. Otherwise, I will drive miles out of my way to avoid the store altogether.
