Great shopping experience overall.....however I purchased my groceries at self check and asked the attendant for the code to the public bathroom on my way out .He refused to tell me the code and said I quote "you are not entitled to use the restroom* ...The level of disrespect this employee had towards a life long Safeway customer was disturbing.....perhaps Safeway might want to hire more respectful candidates ....

False Advertising on the Cafe Chinese food, Advertised as 8.99$ a plate and surprised me with an 18.99$ label... For a small plate of rice and chicken, unacceptable, if I had known I was going to be upcharged so much I wouldn't have bothered getting it and I won't ever be getting it again it's way overpriced and low quality, but the worst part is the false Advertising, definitely fix that.

It's fine. It's... It's not dangerous. You're not gonna get hurt or anything. There are unhoused people around it. They might ask you for something, but no one's gonna hurt you. I feel people vastly overblow the whole... There's homeless people and unhoused people around the Safeway and the Pearl. It's really not that bad. The store is fine. It's well lit. It's well thought. The people who work there are there to do their jobs. And some of them are even pretty nice!

For a store with such a horrible reputation, it doesn’t seem like they’re doing anything to better themselves as a company at this particular location. I went in to buy cold medicine with the direct intention of taking it because I’m ill. I get to the ridiculous in-store cashiering area to buy medicine & the lady asks for my ID, turns out I didn’t bring it with me & this cashier woman is giving me a hard time for no reason. I’m almost 40 years old, very clearly over the age of 18. I understand the rules & regulations, I’ve been a cashier at a grocery store before but for the love of being a reasonable person, use your best digression when handling moments like this. Like what’s the point in being rude? I’m very clearly over the age of 18. You’re making the store lose sales & you’re pissing customers off. Get better cashiers that can read a room & use common sense.

If I ever have to enter this Safeway again in my lifetime it will be too soon...after unloading my cart the 1 customer ahead of me finishes his transaction and I move forward . greeting the cashier I notice 2 employees standing to my right chit chatting. About 1/2 way through my cart I move to the end of the belt to bag my groceries because now there is a line behind me and the cashier is the only 1 bagging at this point. Ive tried to keep my eye on how things are ringing up but have lost track because I'm bagging. I point out to the cashier a frozen dinner that didn't ring up correctly, he asks me what kind of coupon it was , I explain it was a clearance item in frozen foods. He adjusts it but it's still not correct so I offer to go get the tag which he declines. He then calls over 1 of the 2 gentlemen that had been talking and laughing earlier and this man just looks over at him and said "what". He then proceeds to the register where an override is needed . I explain things aren't ringing up correctly and asked if he could suspend the order so I could look at the receipt before I pay. He said "no I don't have time for that". Well that didn't make me happy as far as I'm concerned without me or any customer he doesn't have a job. So I told him standing off to the side talking to another employee wasn't more important than taking care of his customers. Eventually he did suspend my order - after I offered to go to customer service as to not hold people up in the line -where he argued with me saying that every price I pointed out wrong was a digital coupon which I couldn't prove I clipped because by now my phone had died. he said he wasn't going to adjust any prices until I could prove I had clipped them. He said I would have to pay , go charge my phone and return to the store. After explaining about my phone another employee comes from behind me and started talking rather loud and stern that she heard everything and wanted to know what I needed help with. The clerk who was arguing with me told her that I didn't want to pay for my grocerys which I said was not the case. Before I could state my case she told me that I had been rude to every employee there, that she was the managenent in charge on that day. (After asking repeatedly to speak to someone higher up) & Her decision was to not let me pay for my groceries and had an escort walk me off the property. The escort being security who after walking me to the end of the sidewalk asked me if I knew If I was just removed from that Safeway for that 1 day or for always. I'm a 60 yr old women with a disability, 5ft 2 in, who just wanted to see a recipe before paying because the price seemed a little high to me. Who got denied her grocerys after shopping in the store for 1 1/2 hours, told that I was rude to everyone there and escorted by store security . I was talked over, loud talked to and frankly I think whoever put "Ami" in any type of management role should probably be reevaluated because that appears to have gone to her head. There are some people who understand how very important customer service is, how to treat people in a setting where things aren't going as they should and they remember that without the customers there wouldn't be a need for them. After numerous times of asking for a supervisor, pic or some other form of management that I was denied in the store I've asked customer service to have the district manager call me. To be honest there isn't much that can be done at this point to make this better. I think both Ami & Andrew should be removed from any management duties. But as far as me wanting to shop that store again I don't think that will happen because let's get real it's hard enough going to the store these days where prices are outrageous and people are stressed and having a hard time feeding there family's to at the end of it having people like Ami & Andrew make you leave empty handed like a criminal.not being able to leave with the food you just spent all that time shopping for. Im1 less customer that you will need to "find time" for.

(I'd like to preface my comments by saying that the ONLY negative experience came from the sole employee who claimed to be the manager - ALL other staff were kind calm, & very professional.) Absolutely pitiful customer service skills on the part of PM 'manager'. The term 'manager' is ironic in this case, as this young woman seemingly had zero ability/desire to manage her emotions or behavior as she spent 15 solid minutes literally yelling (raised, angry voice) at dozens of customers who stopped in between 11:40pm-11:55pm. Instead of calmly informing customers that they'd be closing in 15 short minutes, to please quickly make their selections and come to check out, I listened as she argued w/ three different customers; one gentlemen by himself, and a husband/wife couple. All three asked her why she was being so rude, in all three were accosted for their trouble. I'm not talking simply stern language; I'm talking disrespectful and nasty tone speaking with contempt for her customers, who, by the way, pay her salary. Sadly, I didn't get a chance to catch your name because she was too busy telling my friend who was with me how to responsible he was for coming in so late. We got off work less than half an hour before and having not eaten all day, we were starving & still managed to get in and pay for her stuff before they closed. This young woman is small, short, blonde, with a disgusting attitude toward customers. I worked retail jobs when I was younger; and I know it can be a pain when customers come in last minute. But never under any circumstances would I speak to a customer in the way that she spoke to a dozen people. I'm not familiar with Safeway corporate policy and I have no idea what kind of pressure is on managers, but if this is the result, perhaps it should be rethought. Again I want to say every other employee was kind and professional.

LOVE grocery pick-up option! I've begun using the free grocery pick-up option almost exclusively. The phone app is easy to use, and there is no frustration in being able to use all the digital coupons because of poor internet service inside the physical store. Dustin (and Chris) are always careful shoppers! I can even add my prescriptions into the mix for convenience as well. A+

It's full of garbage all the time in front of door next to the million ppl asking for money in and out the only door opened to the public. The shopping carts are filthy, the food is slapped out from deli it's sad actually. And the management is nonhelp at all their always to busy to even grab a pack of smokes (I waited at the laundry soap checkout for 15 minutes because I bought detergent I had to check out only there) crazy n no willing to shop there again

Products are good but pricey and store is clean but small. The biggest issue I have with this store is customer service, especially the workers in deli/hot bar and the cashiers. I’ve been to this Safeway multiple times and always had a bad experience with workers in either department. They can be very rude and also very dismissive of you. One man who works in deli was very kind and patient with me every time but unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be the same experience with the rest.
