Been using the drive in pickup service for over a month and can't tell you how pleased I am ... with the service, the selection I'm so used to, and the ease in placing my order. Dustin takes such care in making sure everything's all right. I'm a senior and no longer drive, but my neighbor who also uses the service takes me and we're home in 15 minutes! Way to go, Dustin!
This time around the store has changed. They have automatic gates n black tubing fencing at both entertrances. One is an in door only. Sad that they had to install it for safety purposes. There r also more security guards, some patrol the block, others the parking garage as well as two on the store. Sad times we live in. This post is from the last visit It's a nice store, the flower dept has some really talented ppl arranging some pretty fabulous bouquets! For the most part the clerks r very helpful n friendly.
I regularly place grocery orders online and then schedule for pick up, I have been for years. Christoper and Dustin are great! Communicative on out of stock items and always helpful. My life is made easier because they're wonderful at their job. Thank you to the Safeway team!
Good stock of items. Quick In and out. Friendly service.
This location is very expensive and they sale everything with High price then other stores for example Nexinm in the Target store is $9.99 and in Safeway they sale it for $14 and on sale now for $12. And when I told the guy on the cushier he told me we did not do price match with a disrespectfully. Safeway manger’s Most of the people who live around your store they are low income and they live in low income housing. Most of the stuff in your store very expensive please take that in your consideration. Thanks
Safeway, basic general grocery store that carries all the basics one could want. Some locations are better than others. This one (lovejoy in nw) is pretty decent and has its own parking garage which is nice. It’s one of the few grocery stores in the downtown area and is definitely better than the location on Jefferson.
I really dont like leaving reviews because I am someone who understands people can have a bad day but I feel compelled this time around. Ive had the absolute worst customer service at this location. Like VERY BAD. Emphasis on the shorter hispanic appearing man behind the customer service counter. He could not care any less about his job so not sure why he still has it. Very off putting and I watched it occur not only with me but the customers before me. Because of his lack of care I watched him give wha appeared to be $200 extra dollars in 20s to a customer for change and did not become aware until the customer recounted it and noticed. This was about 4:00pm on October 1st (cameras would support this incident). If I were a manager/director he would definitely be someone I looked into closer as i’m sure he contributes to much business/revenue loss. The only positive encounters i’ve had (as a regular customer) have been with the men who check out near the alcoholic beverage area and a nice young lady who had curly appearing hair in a low bun near self checkout.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I love this neighborhood and genuinely want to see this store succeed—but they can’t keep operating like this and expect people to keep coming back. There were about 20 people waiting in line, and not a single main register was open. The self-checkout was roped off with no explanation. Only one person was running a register in the strange little “mini store” section, which clearly wasn’t enough for the crowd. When I asked an employee named Mikey if the self-checkout could be opened, he said “No.” When I asked why, he repeated “Because we’re closed.” I pointed out the long line and said, “You do realize there are a lot of people waiting, right?” He snapped back that he didn’t need to explain anything to anyone. When I said common courtesy would go a long way, he outright disagreed—and continued to speak in a rude, condescending tone, saying things like “Let’s get you checked out” in the most dismissive way possible. Meanwhile, other employees were standing around doing nothing as the line kept growing. I understand this might be a tough store to staff or manage—but treating paying customers like this isn’t the answer. I hope Safeway takes this seriously. I’d hate to see this location close, but they can’t keep treating people this way and expect loyalty.
I am so pleased with the essential help I get when I order online and pick up with my roller cart inside the Pearl District Safeway. The reason is the perfect, speedy selection of the items I need and the respectful, trusted and kind service I receive when I arrive. Today when I thanked Dustin I told him I tell people I really couldn't shop as efficiently or select as precisely as he and Chris do. I live in the neighborhood, have given away my car and could not be more pleased with the grocery pick up service. My kudos come after nearly two years of consistently exceptional service.
Today was a Horrible Experience with an order. This company doesn't care about their customers. The Mgrs Are never there not a reliable store. The only thing that was their saving face was the person in that department who did their best. It must be nice to not be accountable for their jobs. Safeway is no longer the solid company Ptown has grown up with.
