Items are very expensive, but they are also very well made and of high quality. It's also the only store that sells online (and delivers internationally) that I can find which has the products that suit my taste, so I had to pay for it. In my personal experience, Schoolhouse has good after-sale customer service that handles shipment issues, this is very good for someone like me who lives outside of US. Something that got damaged (either during shipping or post-production) when it arrived at my home, and Schoolhouse took care of the issue very quickly and gave me very little hassle. The satin copper handles and knobs from SHE really add a level of class and elegance to my kitchen that meet my expectations.

I made the mistake of ordering a set of (expensive!) bedsheets with them. I ordered about a month before the shipping strike on the East Coast, so that's not the issue, or at least, it shouldn't have been at the time. Still waiting on those sheets, you guys.

I did not want to leave this super cool place. I could definitely spend hours in there.

What everyone is saying about lead time issues here and on yelp is true. Ordered my stuff which was quoted as 3-4 weeks lead time 5 weeks ago. At the 4 week point after receiving no tracking information I emailed them. The response I got back was something to the effect of "we just go around to looking at your order and we're missing pieces for it. We're a month behind schedule." Hmmmm, that's interesting. If you're that far behind schedule, then why are you quoting the wrong lead times. I go out to their website and look at the items I ordered -- website still showing 3-4 week lead times despite them telling me my order will be at LEAST 8. I send them the screenshot and their reaction is, "sorry, we'll look into it." They're still say we "hope" you'll have your order in another month. They won't even commit to it. How much do you want to bet I wait another 4 weeks and I get the same useless response?

I can't say good things about Schoolhouse Electric. I ordered a lamp and was told it would take 5 days. I assumed business days. The sales associate confirmed this with a manager. I paid the $600 for the one lamp and had the audacity of expecting an on time arrival. I called customer service after 10 business days (twice the allotted time) and was told to expect 4 weeks. Josh in customer service says he has no idea why I was told 5 days and that there wasn't much he could do... that MAYBE he could come up with a 10% discount. MAYBE?!? Is customer service dead these days? Is there no accountability. When i'm paying for your overpriced lamps in the amount of $600, MAYBE you should deliver on time.

Charged for an item that was "in stock" online but it never shipped. Took forever to get a refund back. Order at your own peril.

UPDATE: Schoolhouse did get back to me and will replace my shipment. I still hope they do something about that terrible bot on the website. Thwarting your customers is not a good long-term plan. ORIGINAL REVEW: This is not the same Schoolhouse Electric. Notice they don’t have a phone number on their website. They use a Zendesk chatbot for customer service. Another great company grows out of its awesomeness.

Most products are manufactured and assembled overseas and not made in Portland now days. If you have a pre food52 school house light fixture consider yourself lucky.

Given that they were bought out by the Food52 empire (who has the worst worst customer service/operations ever), do not expect anything stellar from this company. Order your items from somewhere else - while their stuff is cool, you can find similar if not identical on other sites. Food52 lost by business in 2019 and now Schoolhouse.

Reused space in an older building is the perfect showroom for these high quality home goods. We have some of these fixtures in out house, and they are of the absolute highest quality. The staff at the showroom were helpful, and not at all pushy. I loved all of the arrangements of the pieces in here, it made me want to never leave.
