We live in Portland, OR. We went to order the Miller Cart, $399. Shipping is $335? What? We live 4 miles away from the warehouse. The last item we got was water damaged and we returned it and never saw the refund. Can’t call and no one really returns an email. At least not for weeks. Used to be an amazing source for home goods. Perhaps not so much anymore. Update. Got a response on the shipping cost. They said it was accurate. So that is wild.I can ship a car from Seattle to Portland for less than $335.

Great team of staff. The selection of goods is wonderful. A little of everything...lighting, bedding, household and a fun selection of vintage products.

Although it is obvious, this place is beautiful and carries beautiful items and I love coming here every time I visit Portland (I come here a few times a year from Minneapolis). What I think deserves a positive highlight is the amazing staff at the retail store! They are all so friendly, funny, and helpful and make this out-of-towner feel at home. I would especially like to give praise to Aleigh (ah, so sorry if I am spelling her name wrong)! I love this place and the people they hire! Cheers from Minneapolis.

After installing maybe 6 different models of lights I find they have a hard time designing wall mounting lights that can actually be tighten down to the wall as opposed to hang off of pre placed screws. Ceiling mounted lights are better but wall mounts all seem to just hang there. They also use cheap wiring.

If you accept online purchases you can't have some archaic policy where they can't be cancelled or adjusted. Emailed 20 minutes after I placed an order, nothing they can do for me. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I ordered a rug in person 4 weeks ago and was told it would arrive in 5-10 days. I waited 15 days and started to reach out for an update. After about 5 emails with an AI bot I started to ask how to get in contact with the showroom. No phone number. I got the email address and started emailing. No response. I finally had to walk in there on a Saturday morning with my 6 year old to be told my rug may arrive in 3-4 months. I was treated like I was an annoyance to their staff because I was inquiring about my order and providing feedback on a frustrating customer service experience. I love schoolhouse but would likely not order anything more significant than a rug after this experience. I hope I like my rug when it arrives 4-5 months after I was told it would arrive in 5 days!

No Phone number?! Was so excited to order several items from Schoolhouse but the lack of response and only a bot to communicate with was my first warning. I was then motivated to check the reviews - consistently horrible - looks like the company sold and is heading downhill. Perhaps it's a different story if you live in the area and can go to the showroom in person. Glad I did my homework, will go somewhere where customer service is the priority and a real live human will actually answer the phone.

Ordered an in stock item, waited about a week before I reached out to them about not receiving a tracking email. Was told I should receive my item in about another week. A week later still no update to the tracking email. Reached out again, Same generic email as before no resolution or empathy was told I would have my order shipped by 7/31 (placed the order on 7/3) No let me go higher to see how I can get your product delivered asap no here I hate to not have you return here is 10,15,20% off coupon for your next purchase. Based on previous reviews the customer service is not very supportive and shipping seems like a consistent issue. Buy at your own risk.

I’ve ordered a few things over the past few years and I loved the aesthetic. Living in Portland I enjoyed going to the showroom both to browse and also to pick up items I ordered online, now that’s no more and I got a rude awakening with their shipping policy. I ordered 2 small, not heavy pendants. The shipping was almost $60, which didn’t make sense to me and felt like an error. So I emailed customer service who got back to me in a few days, in a timely fashion. That’s how I learned that the shipping cost is 10% of your order. So not based on anything like, how much it costs to ship or any algorithm of shipping rates to your zip code. AND it had miscalculated that cost (which they fixed). So I waited for the box to arrive, yes it took awhile but was on time with what they had quoted me. What arrived was a small, not heavy box. As a person I could of shipped this for $25 with none of the breaks of being a company with presumably business rates with carriers. So it’s a scam. So if you buy something 20% on sale, it’s actually only 10% really. I mean maybe if you bought something heavy and cheap you end up on the better end of things? I don’t know. What I do know is that we are done.

Never visited the showroom, but the quality of this brand is very inconsistent when purchasing online. Rarely am I able to get an order that has all the right items, isn’t damaged and is working as intended. At this point, shopping with them is the same as gambling, you’re almost bound to lose more than you win.
