From the day before my surgery, the front desk lady (in very high heels) was so nice and patient with me filing out forms. Next day, The nurses in pre-op (Carmen) were so cordial and helpful, the surgery staff ( True Pros!) were so kind - then onto Post Op- very lovely, sweet Natalia keeping a close eye on me, making sure I was comfortable. Finally, to my hospital room- so many caring Nurses- Rosemary, Carlos - so professional and caring about me. I’m sorry I can remember everyone’s name, but I will never forget how they made me feel ❤️
My niece went to that hospital last night on the 27th terrible pain in her stomach. She's got a tumor on there. Supposedly her doctor supposed to perform surgery on her. She's been laying in a bed for over 24 hours being totally neglected barely had a nurse ever come in no one has seen the doctor and when they my niece's husband told the nurse to please call her doctor. They said they could not get a hold of the doctor well, the doctor works for that hospital so they want to release my niece why she's still in terrible pain. She can't move. She can't even talk. That's what kind of hospital. This is. Don't go there. Don't go There
I had a pleasant stay at the HCA hospital on Hermann. The staff was attentive, always kind and solicitous. The facility was clean and I never had any doubts about my personal wellbeing. Would I return to the facility, (God forbid I have a future need)? Yes!
Edited to add: The staff in Surgical waiting and in pre and post op were great, friendly, informative about each step they were doing and made the process as fun as it could be. The fact that this facility offers front door valet is an added bonus. This review is only regarding the check-in procedures for day surgery. Intake is a joke. One person to greet and do the paperwork, take in the paperwork and direct patients. We've been here 40 minutes and several people who walked in after us were immediately assisted. Thumbs down. Worse intake ever
I was recently discharged from having back surgery on Saturday and when I tell you that I had the most amazing nurses ever, they made my stay very nice. I didn’t have many visitors and really I didn’t need any because they definitely made me feel at home. I want to give a special shout out to Cindy, Cam and the Night Nurse ( I can’t render her name) you guys really took good care of me. There were also two aide’s that took care of me and I can’t remember their names, but they were really nice as well. The only thing that I didn’t like was the food could’ve been a little bit better, but it served its purpose. 🫶
Nurse Lucy on night one was outstanding - concerned with my husband's pain and tried to do everything she could to help him. Nurse Lina during the days was very attentive but hard to understand because of her accent and how fast she talked. In general, the care was very good. We could tell they were short handed so the fact that my husband's needs were met is great. One negative, not regarding care, is that on Saturday, the South Tower entrance is closed and parking on the street is difficult. I had to park close to the North Tower and enter through Emergency, then walk across the skywalk to the South Tower. I had to go feed the meter while waiting for my husband to be released, so that was another long walk out and back again. This was a huge inconvenience that they didn't tell me about. On the other hand, free valet parking during the week is a great benefit.
Not at all what I expected having an appointment and still waited 2 hours for the procedure to even start. I had to reschedule prior to this appointment due to the same issue.
