I recently had day surgery for an implant. Everyone that I dealt with at HCA Houston Healthcare was extremely professional and nice. Before surgery everyone came by and introduced themselves to me, which was very nice. My surgery came out just fine.

Admitted for heart attack snd subsequent placement of stent for 98%blockage. After getting into an actual room, had a shift change. Care team before shift change felt like they were tolerating me. After shift change, I had the most accomodating, caring nurse possible. Actually listened and cared. Then transferred to a cardiac floor. Night shift was okay. But daytime shift team was outstanding. Actuslly took time to explain and help me along with time educating me. However, overall, the right hand never knew what left hand was doing. Scheduling conflicts, release procrdures. I never saw any other "attending dr" except my cardiologist, who was great! Hospital rooms on two floors were distingushingly different- one was well maintained and comfortable- the other leaving a LOT to be desired. Care team for stent procedure were wonderful, including my techs that prepped me. I live five hours from Houston. I didnt have a predetermined choice for care. Grateful to have care. There were select individuals who made a difference, but overall the facility could use some improvement in communication and operating systems. The doctor i never saw failed to code my diagnosis as anything but chest psin, causing a denial on insurance.

The worst hospital experience of my life, my partner was hospitalized to be given a bad diagnosis, we were hospitalized for 3 days and in the end the reason for his pain was what we were first told in the emergency room. The attention was very slow, the first day in the room, not even the doctor came to see us, when I complained about this the only thing I received was a phone call with zero staff, I felt that they did not care about my partner's condition. As you can see in the pictures the room was in a deplorable situation, I could not believe that a hospital has these facilities. The only reason I give 1 star is because of a couple of nurses who were really nice except for one who was extremely rude to me when all I did was ask to see a doctor, since I asked her to see a doctor her treatment towards us was fatal, she sighed, did not talk to us and ignored us. I feel this treatment was due to the fact that my partner did not speak English and I did my best to communicate his needs being that I’m bilingual. In conclusion a lousy service, facilities and even bad treatment for not speaking the language. Do not come here!!

The nurses at HCA Medical Center (Park Plaza Hospital) went beyond their professional duty and were absolutely personable during my hospitalization. They had empathy for my situation, made sure I was comfortable, took care of the little things that were important to me, and gave me the encouragement to get well. These nurses are angels on Earth. I thank them for all that they do every day and every night, on their long 12-hour shifts. As a plus, Park Plaza is located in the Museum District next to Hermann Park. When I was well enough, I was treated to a great view of Miller Outdoor Theatre through my hospital window. I took a picture of the view to share.

I had the worst medical experience of my life at HCA Houston Healthcare, specifically the Medical Center location, and feel obligated to warn others. I went to urgent care on a Wednesday with severe head pain, neck and back pain, stomach tenderness, and chills. After testing negative for COVID and flu, I was sent to HCA Houston Healthcare on Wirt for a CT scan and then transferred to the larger HCA Houston Healthcare hospital in the Medical Center. From that point on, the care was absolutely horrible. Doctors told me my white blood cell count was 17,000, meaning I had an infection, but they couldn’t find the source. Despite being in extreme pain, I was repeatedly denied pain medication and given only Tylenol. I did not sleep all night. On Thursday morning I had a full-body CT scan, but no doctor reviewed it the entire day. I spent all of Thursday in severe pain with no answers, no treatment plan, and no urgency. Late Thursday evening, the doctor admitted he still had not read my CT scan. Even after reviewing it, he offered no diagnosis and mentioned a possible spinal tap while still refusing pain medication. After nearly two days of suffering, I was forced to leave. At 4:00 AM Friday, I took an Uber alone to Methodist Hospital. Within minutes, the doctor reviewed the same CT scan and immediately diagnosed diverticulitis, which was already documented on the scan HCA had done. I received IV medication and pain relief right away and was discharged within a few hours. The difference in care was night and day. HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center was neglectful and dangerous, and I will be warning others to avoid this hospital.

It was great. The staff was good. The treatment was very professional. The nurse took good care of me. It made me smile doing all procedures of my process.

Very satisfied with the care of my team of nurses and everyone I came in contact with. I was in room 904. Every staff member came and introduced them self to me and my family! I received excellent care! I highly recommend this facility. And I hope that if I have to come back I get the same staff. Thank you I don't think I told them enough!

I had surgery here and stayed overnight for one night. My surgeon was excellent, skilled, professional, and made me feel very confident in my care, which is ultimately why I was at this hospital in the first place. Unfortunately, my experience with the nursing staff was disappointing. I found them to be inattentive and not very responsive, despite only having 2 patients overnight and for most of the day until later on when two more were admitted. For a hospital setting, especially after surgery, I expected a higher level of care and it felt that they did not know how to properly handle recovery for the surgery I had.

Good care all the way. Margaret did good with my IV,Candace and Lacey were in the OR and did my anesthesia respectively. The nurses on the 9th floor were excellent. I'm sorry I lost my list with your names but you were ALL professional and friendly. Food was surprisingly good and hot, almost impossible to do. The dietary gentlemen were excellent. I would be very comfortable going back, and that's saying a LOT after some of the care I have seen in San Antonio and Knoxville TN. I hope HCA does more than a thank you email for these folks. Well done!

I’ll start with the positive. They offer complementary valet, and the place was clean. The issues I had were, no one was at the front desk for quite some time when I entered. A few of the nurses are wearing heavy perfume, which is not conducive for patients with respiratory issues, and chemical sensitivities. They also did not keep my family informed like they told me they would. Within 15 minutes after I opened my eyes from being under they were wheeling me out of recovery back over to my prep room. The nurse began rushing me to get dressed so they could escort me out. I was moving extremely slow, and still felt heavily sedated. I asked if she would go get my family member to help me dress so I would not fall. She did go get someone. Within a few minutes, she came back with the wheelchair and opened the curtain while I was half naked, began rushing me again. I had to ask her to close the curtain. Another issue is they did not go over any discharge instructions. She did hand me an envelope that had paperwork which contained the discharge instructions. The fact I was so out of it, it would’ve been nice for her to verbally give discharge instructions in front of my family member. Once I got into the wheelchair, it was like she was running a race to get me out, and left my family member down the hallway. They were in such a hurry to get rid of me. They forgot to give me my inhaler. They called once we were 10 minutes down the road. We drove back and asked if they could come down to bring it to us. We were told no we needed to come up to the second floor to get it. I’m wondering if they were understaffed and overbooked with patients. On a sidenote, none of the issues reflect my amazing Dr and his team. I could not have had a better experience when it came to my Dr, and his team.
