If I could give zero stars I would. Had my car brought in for a simple oil change. (Mind you my car drives perfectly - absolutely NO issues whatsoever. It was just time for a routine oil change). After 4 hours called to check to see if it was ready to be picked up and was informed that it needed $3600 in repairs!!!! Quite a shock since like I said - it was performing perfectly well. Was told my brakes were bad, the rear arm bushings were in really rough shape, and a turbo oil pipe was leaking heavily. Was even advised that the car isn’t safe to drive long distances (I had a weekend trip planned to Michigan). So of course I wanted a second opinion. Called another mechanic and guess what - the car has absolutely NO issues. Brakes are fine, turbo oil pipe is fine, and rear arm bushings look perfect! And to top it all off - the 2nd mechanic checked the oil (that had supposedly just been changed and filled) and the oil pan is only a little over 1/2 full. Needless to say - I’ll never go back and advise others to stay away!!!
Frank is the man!! The owner Frank was a pleasure to work with while getting my car fixed. It needed a lot of work and he helped me greatly cost-wise. When it was time to pickup my car, he also took the time to call me personally, and you can tell he cares about his customers, which is not common in my experience at other auto-shops. I will definitely be going back for all my car needs moving forward and recommending him to my friends if they have car issues as well. 10/10 experience.
I have USAA and they dispatched Wells for roadside assistance. It only took 10 minutes for the guy to show up and he quickly fixed my battery! Saved the day. Great communication.
They weren’t able to tow my car but kindly covered the punched out window with plastic until we could figure out another solution. Thank you!
One of the most established mechanics in the city of Chicago and one of the best. It doesn't matter the problem Well Automotive can help. That seems harder and harder to find but look no further, you'll find it here.
Make sure you remove everything from your vehicle before they tow it. They stole item out of my truck once it was towed after an accident. They will steal your items!! Be aware!
Had a dead battery and my insurance dispatched Wells. After an hour and a half, I called them to see if they were still coming and they said they were an additional 45 minutes out (2h 15 total). 15 minutes later, my insurance called me to say that Wells had marked the job as complete even though nobody came. An absolutely horrible experience and I still had a dead battery at the end of it.
I had a flat tire and this company was dispatched through my roadside assistance. The technician that assisted me was able to get the tire replaced but struggled to change it using a tiny 1 ton jack instead of a 2.5 ton or higher for larger vehicles. He had to jack it from the front of my Lexus NX (which is not really a large vehicle) since the 1 ton jack couldn’t get it off the ground from the side frame. It would be nice to see better equipment being used for more efficient and safer service to the client. It really puts into question the reliability of their other services offered if they can’t carry the right size jack at minimum. Thankfully the technician was able to change it, but I was extremely nervous about damage to the vehicle. I will say the technician came out quickly and helped me with such a kind demeanor. Cudos to Arthur for helping me out.
They are a scam. They will tell you to get a tow truck with companies who have workman’s comp. Then they will tell you it’s ok call your company. When they arrive they block the entrance so your tow truck doesn’t come out. Then you have to pay them $200
The team at Wells Automotive was professional, efficient, and did an excellent job repairing my car. The service was fast, the communication was great, and my car looks brand new again!
